The Early Days
(1983–1990)
In 1983, Jane Ward MBE founded Central Youth Theatre with the vision of providing Wolverhampton’s young people with a platform for artistic expression. What started as a small initiative quickly evolved into one of the most influential youth theatre organisations in the region.
With a focus on inclusivity and creative development, CYT has touched the lives of over 2,500 young people through more than 220 productions. Today, it continues to empower the next generation of performers and creators, both locally and internationally.
